The pulmonary alveolus, the smallest unit of the lungs, serves as the central inspiration, representing the core site where oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged—an essential process that enables the act of breathing and the continuity of life.
The organic diffusion of ink reflects the rhythm of breath, capturing the flow and connectivity inherent in this vital process. The branch-like forms resemble the alveolar ducts, while the rounded shapes symbolize the alveoli, the individual units of respiration. Together, the interconnected forms metaphorically represent the intricate and harmonious mechanics of the respiratory process, emphasizing the essential and often unnoticed miracle of breathing.
The monochromatic palette symbolizes the purity and simplicity of the act of breathing. Creative collaboration, through experimentations and exchange. Abstract emotions, echoes and shadows of an abysmal history, flirting with the prohibited, their gaze subverted—HIDDEN PORTRAIT shares personal narratives, the representation of nine creative processes.
Each artist illuminates reality-plural. Landscapes of identities emerge, where the intimate becomes collective, a celebration of self-liberation, a poetic journey through iconographies and imaginaries. Altogether, the works form an artistic organism, an energy—seen and unseen—inhabits the exhibition space, balancing between what is secretive and what is revealed—where introspection encounters the intangible.
